Recital
Patty is best known for her story themed shows. She has two recitals each year. One for the younger students who are in the 2nd yr ballet, beg. jazz, tap and hip hops down to the pre-ballet classes. The young student’s recital consists of 18 to 20 numbers and is no longer than an hour and a half long. It is also themed to coincide with the older recitals theme. This year’s recitals are Jungle Fever (pre-ballet I through 2nd years students) and Lion King (3rd year students through our most advanced students). I believe that when the audience knows the story, it makes it more enjoyable to watch.
What to Wear
Ballet Class – Leotard and tights-skirts may be worn if they are knee level or above. Pink leather or canvas ballet shoes. We do not recommend the satin slippers found at Target for any of our classes, they tend to fall of the feet.
Jazz – Leotard, tights or jazz pants and black ballet or jazz shoes
Tap – Leotard, tights or dance pants and black tap shoes
Hip Hop and Motion Fitness – Tight fitting tee shirts or tank, shorts, Capri or dance pants. Please no jeans and have clean gym shoes while in class to help protect our floors
Dance Team – Patty Pille’s SOD also has a competition dance team. For more information, please see link to Patty Pille’s dance team.
Safety
for Young Joints
In the Kids First tradition of safety, our dance studio is furnished with a
'Dance-Flex' floor. This unique suspended hardwood floor was designed exclusively
for the benefit of our students. Two layers of high density closed cell foam,
combined with three layers of wood allow this floor to flex approximately 1/4" on
take-offs and landings, dramatically reducing stress on young (and older joints).
