Why
take soccer lessons?
Playing in a league does little to teach your child soccer skills. In fact,
with meager skills playing on a soccer team can be downright frustrating. Now,
finally, here's a place where all kids, beginner to select, can learn how to
better play the world's most popular game.
For
our Preschool soccer players...PURE FUN!
We at Kids First believe that sports should be FUN. And as important as fun
is for any age, for preschoolers, fun serves a higher purpose than most realize.
It is at this young age that a child forms his subconscious, LIFETIME associations
about trying, succeeding and failing. Bottom line: we structure our soccer
classes to make sure that our young students associate the challenges of learning
with pleasant feelings, not anxious feelings. Lets face it...if we can help
a preschooler associate that challenge=fun we have helped that youngster become
a LIFETIME LEARNER in life as well as in soccer .
The
Coerver Method
The Coerver Method of teaching soccer is based on dissection of the moves of
the great players of the game and then retaught to the students piece by piece,
drill by drill in a format that is easy and fun to learn. There are 28 organizations
licensed to teach the Coerver Method and Weil Coerver endorses Charlie Cooke
as the premier USA coach.

What
should my child wear?
Conventional soccer shorts and jersey or T-shirt is the order of the day. Shin
guards are required. Clean flat soled gym shoes work well on
the soccer field. Indoor soccer shoes are acceptable (must be indoor
shoes). No sandals.
Make-ups
It is always best to attend your regularly scheduled class. However, in the
event of an unavoidable absence, we will do our best to provide for up
to two make-ups per term. Please call the office to schedule a make-up.
We do not guarantee make-ups, as we do limit the number of make-ups in
any class.
