Tumble Bees: More Valuable Than a College Education
As parents and teachers, it is essential to remember, there is no better age to form positive learning attitudes than the preschool years. Unfortunately, as many parents find out the hard way, you simply can't turn back the clock and teach learning attitudes to a teenager. In short, we believe strongly, the learning attitudes your child acquires during their preschool years in Tumble Bees have more bearing on their success than will their college education.

Keep First Things First When Raising Kids
Child development experts know: for preschoolers, acquiring healthy learning skill is far more important than mastery of specific skills such as cartwheels. In Tumble Bees, gymnastics skills are used as tools to instill learning attitudes while skill mastery is a secondary goal-in essence, a byproduct. In Tumble Bees, we keep first things first.....kids!

A Critical Tumble Bee exclusive:
NINE age groupings
We divide our Tumble Bee Program into nine separate age groups. At these tender ages, we believe small age divisions are necessary in order to create just the right learning environment for each stage of a child's development. Few organizations go to this trouble but we know the children feel more comfortable and learn more in our groupings.

  • 10-18 mos. A parent/tot class centered around age appropriate developmental movement.
  • 19-24 mos. Our 19-24 month olds will have an added adventure into the BIG gym. Designed as a transitional class, the 19-24 month group are being prepared to move into the two year group. The child must be 19 months of age prior to the beginning of the 19-24 month old class.
  • 3 P/CT This class begins as a parent/child class.. The 3 P/CT (Parent/child transition) is designed for the child who has spent a minimum of one term in our 2 year old program, shows an emotional readiness for a class without a parent and who will be turning 3 years old within the first three weeks of the term. This is a great transition class for any 3 year old who is hesitant to separate from the parent.
  • 2 yrs. Also a parent/tot format but with bigger excitement and bigger challenges!
  • 3 yrs. No parents needed for this age group! There are mountains to climb, rivers to swim, canyons to jump and vines to swing on. Using an amazing variety of gymnastics challenges, kids begin to gain a clear understanding of their bodies' capabilities and limitations.
  • 4 yrs. This age group will receive stepped-up challenges. As in all levels, we make sure each attempt is rewarded so the children associate 'trying and falling short' with what it really is a natural step in the learning process.
  • PreK. This class is designed for students who are atleast 4 1/2 & will enter Kindergarten at the beginning of the 2008 school year. (Special note - a 4 year old who would be consiered a Pre-K could definitely attend a 4 year old class in place of a Pre-K)
  • Kinderbees Kindergarteners. Kinderbees are able to handle a class which is slightly more 'skill oriented'. As the year moves along, we begin to offer more 'skills' and less general movement, preparing each child, physically and mentally, for our FUN-Tastics Gymnastics classes starting at 1st grade. Note that in the summer, this level shifts to become the 'Pre-first grade' class.

What should my child wear?
Most girls wear a leotard. A t-shirt and active wear shorts are also OK. Boys wear active wear shorts and a t-shirt. Bare feet are best as it is difficult to climb some of our 'mountains' and other stations with socks, as they slip. Hair should be pulled back for safety, as long hair interferes and can be dangerous. Please no gum or jewelry.
