PRIMARY LEVEL CLASSES:
Magical Movement (For Ages 2 ½ -3) Introductory class:
Explore creative movement, improve motor skills and begin awareness of the body. Using props like scarves, tambourines, and drums, the dancers will learn to move their body to different rhythms and patterns which help with basic ballet, jazz and tap movements.
Attire: leotard and tights and ballet shoes.
Dance Mix Mini (For Ages 3 & 4)
Combination class introducing of ballet, jazz, and tap movements. Ideal for the young dancer who is ready for more than our Magical Movement class but not quite ready for a primary ballet or jazz level 1 class.
Attire: Leotard and tights or leggings for girls. T-shirt and shorts/sweatpants for Boys. Ballet and tap shoes.
Dance Mix Primary (For Ages 4-6)
A combination class of ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop. Ideal for the young dancer who is ready to be introduced a variety of dance styles. Each week, the class will focus on two different styles of dance.
Attire: Leotard and tights or leggings for girls. T-shirt and shorts or sweatpants. Ballet and tap shoes
Primary Hip Hop (For Ages 4-6)
For the beginning young dancer who wants to groove to age-appropriate music in hip hop style.

This class is for our youngest dancers who show an accelerated focus and ability for ballet.

Ballet Level 2 (For ages 7-11) Dancer must have accomplished skills from Ballet Level 1
This curriculum-based class is for the beginner who has had some prior ballet experience. The dancer will learn proper terminology and the class will increase in difficulty as the year progresses.

Ballet Level 3 (for Ages 7-14) Beginner/ Intermediate ballet

Intermediate Level
Ballet Level 4 (Introduction to Pre-Pointe) (For Ages 7-14)
For the intermediate dancer who has accomplished the ballet level 3 curriculum

Ballet 5 (Includes Pre-Pointe) For the intermediate dancer who has accomplished the skills of ballet level 4
The class includes 60 minutes of ballet with 30 minutes of Pre-Pointe or Pointe based on preparedness of the students. Curriculum based ballet technique with pre-pointe.

Intermediate to advanced level

This curriculum-based ballet technique class is for the intermediate dancer and will include pre-pointe within the class.

For the pre-advanced to advanced dancer who has accomplished ballet level 6 and is dancing en pointe or needs to strengthen their ballet with pre-pointe work. The class includes 90 minutes of ballet along with, at least, 30 minutes of Pointe

Ballet Level 9 and 10 with Pointe (Advanced)
For advanced dancer who has accomplished ballet level 8 and is dancing en pointe or needs to strengthen their ballet with pre-pointe work. The class will be divided into 90 minutes of ballet with 30 minutes of Pointe

Ballet level 9 and 10 with Lyrical Classes (Advanced)
2 hour class that includes 1 hr 30 minute Ballet technique class followed by 30 minutes of lyrical ballet.
Ballet Technique levels 6 and up for pre-advanced to advanced dancer
For the pre-advanced to advanced dancer who wants to concentrate on the precision of ballet technique predominantly at the ballet barre. This class supports the curriculum-based ballet classes.

Jazz Level 1 Ages 6-9; Beginner level jazz technique
For the beginning dancer with an introduction to jazz technique with isolations, kicks, turns, leaps, combinations of footwork all to fun age-appropriate music.

Jazz Level 2 Ages 7-12; Beginner level jazz technique with experience
This class will focus on jazz technique with body isolations, high kicks, big leaps and combinations of steps to popular music.

Jazz level 3 Ages 8 &Up; Intermediate dancer who has completed jazz 3 or has teacher approval
Dancers will have jazz technique and learn jazz combinations for the first 45 minutes of class; followed by 30 minutes of tap technique. This class is for the intermediate jazz dancer who also wants to learn the fundamentals of tap to increase footwork speed.

Contemporary 1 This class is for dancers who are ballet level 3 + or have teacher approval
Introduction to the foundations of contemporary movement and proper body alignment.
Contemporary 2 Level 7 dancer with previous experience.
Exploration of combinations of movement with modern, jazz and ballet styles. This class will utilize the study of Horton, Graham, Limone, Cunningham, classical ballet and jazz through space and time.

Lyrical This class is for dancers who are ballet level 3 & Up
The study of movement that tells a story to the lyrics of songs. A background of ballet training is essential to further movement exploration.

Designed for the dancer who wants to increase his/her strength and flexibility in dancing. Designed to help with injury prevention and core strength as well as stamina and length of lines while dancing

Turns & Leaps 1 Ages 6 & Up This class is appropriate for the level 2 and 3 ballet or jazz student.
The dancer will learn the basics of turning and leaping with the goal of increasing speed, precision, and technique. This class prepares the dancer for Turns and Leaps 2.
Turns and Leaps 2 Must have completed Turns & Leaps 1 or have teacher approval
Ideal for the competition dancer and/or recreational dancer who wants to improve the speed and precision of his/her turns and leaps.

Turns & Leaps 1 Ages 6 & Up This class is appropriate for the level 2 and 3 ballet or jazz student.
The dancer will learn the basics of turning and leaping with the goal of increasing speed, precision, and technique. This class prepares the dancer for Turns and Leaps 2.
Turns and Leaps 2 Must have completed Turns & Leaps 1 or have teacher approval
Ideal for the competition dancer and/or recreational dancer who wants to improve the speed and precision of his/her turns and leaps.
Turns and Leaps 3 Must have completed Turns and Leaps 2 or have teacher approval
Ideal for the competition dancer and/or recreational dancer who wants to improve the speed and precision of his/her turns and leaps as well as the shape and extension of his/her leaps.
Turns and Leaps 4 For dancers who have completed Turns and Leaps 3 or have teacher approval
Ideal for the competition dancer and/or recreational dancer who wants to improve the speed and precision of his/her turns and leaps as well as the shape and extension of his/her leaps.
Turns and Leaps Level 5 For dancers who have completed Turns & Leaps 4 or have teacher approval
This class is for the competition dancer. It is a class that will focus on increasing the speed and accuracy of the dancer’s turns. The dancer will work on improving the level of difficulty of his/her turns and leaps as well as working on combinations of the two.
Fundamentals
Ballet Fundamentals Ages 9 & Up
This class is for the beginning or beginning with experienced level dancer who wants to learn the fundamentals of ballet,
Attire: Leotard and tights or form fitting leggings and ballet shoes. Hair in a ballet bun
Jazz & Tap Fundamentals Ages 11 & Up
This class is ideal for those dancers interested in musical theater and want to improve their dance technique. Foundations of tap and jazz will be taught in this class.
Attire: Leotard or form fitting top and tights or shorts/leggings. Hair in a ponytail.
Dance Team auditions are June 8 at 2:00pm
Alternative Date Available: Friday, May 24th at 5:00pm
Auditions and competitive team practices are held at our Kids First Sports Center Location in Cincinnati, OH.
